Hair Question....Answer

This is a nice conversation/ hair update with me and my Bff. I love when ppl ask question because it urges me to do more research, help them and see also what else i need to add to my regimen. Alright here we go...

What hair products do u use again? And where can I find it?

 - Well i use numerous products for now. I have a previous post about my hair regimen down below {wink wink). Im still on the search for a moisturizing shampoo with no sulfate and no mineral oil, until them im using treseme, it does have sulfate but it does not strip my hair of moisture. For conditioner i rotate the treseme for hair breakage and the VO5 moisture milk which i use for cowashing. And i always add EVOO or coconut oil to my conditioners for extra moisture.
Sulfate- strips your hair of all moisture and anything you previously added to it
Mineral Oil- Block any moisture from nourishing the hair and scalp. its pointless to have a moisturizer with mineral   oil. yuck!

I was watching one of ur vids with te castors oil and stuff*the one with the castor oil and what is evoo?

EVOO- extra virgin olive oil
Coconut oil- open your pores nourishes the scalp. good for hair growth.

Oh ok ... Ur hair looked mad healthy lol since the wedding (July) it grew bak a lot !!! But I really like the oil treatment u were doing shampoo wise I'm still using the biotin shampoo from GNC it's really good..

After my braids my hair got weak again but its back to normal, I condition once a week nowBiotin is good for the hair, im gonna look into that.

I haven't permed it since the wedding (July)!!! But I need to start treatin it Bc it's growing but it's mad dry o I kno I need some kind of moisture

Dryness=Breakage.
you need oil treatments, deep conditioner. and moisturizing and sealing your hair every night, but i only do it every other night if i have a weave in i oil my scalp with Castor oil or Wild growth oil.

Click here for my  Hot oil treatment

U perm ur own hair or u get it done

I do everything my self except for trim.

Oh never mind I messed myself up tryna perm I think that's the only thing that I won't be doing anymore! Do u wrap/set urself too if so how?

I stretch my perms last time was 4 month, i had braids in so my hair got tangled. now im going for 3 minimum i don't wanna risk it. i don't know how to roller set so i used to blow dry, flat iron and wrap but since my hair journey i haven't used any heat on my hair so i wet wrap. first time i did it it came out very straight and shiny.

-I have a couple links on my blog about building a regimen, whatever i can do do help let me know.

-my first step into all this was watching YouTube videos so good luck

Hair Oils!!! (Castor Oil)

During my months of research i keep noticing one main thing in everyone's regiment OILS!!!. It was interesting to me and they were using so many diff ones, avocado, tee tree, castor, coconut, and more. The product we use all have these oils in them but according to research it works better to have to oil in its most natural form and apply to the hair. these oils can be used for hot oil treatment, deep conditioning, washing, pre-poo (pre-shampoo)  and co-wash (conditioner wash). all the oils do something differently but in the most interesting way.

this first one i will talk about is CASTOR OIL!!

Most ppl say all castor oil are the same but i beg to differ. I have been using JBCO (Jamaican Black Castor Oil) for some time now and i love it even tho it cost 8 dollars i make it last and it works. this is a video showing the wonders it did for me  Click here! my hair on the side completely fell out last year and wild growth oil and castor oil brought it back..

heres some info from Hairoils.net about castor oil:

Castor Oil for hair has been an age old remedy for many hair issues, however everyone seems to think that any old castor oil will do, regular castor oil may have some benefits but it is recommended to get a quality kind of Castor oil for hair.
When discussing castor oil for hair and it benefits it is first important to know exactly what castor oil is.  This oil is extracted from the seed of a castor plant.  This oil contains many ingredients that are not only great for hair but other issues as well.  Some of the ingredients in castor oil for hair are vitamin E and minerals; castor oil also contains some anti-viral and anti-fungal properties.   One of the best things about using castor oil for hair is that is has anti-inflammatory properties that assist the scalp and hair
One of the biggest benefits is using castor oil for hair growth.  Castor oil stimulates the scalp helping improve blood circulation that leads to healthier looking hair and growth.  Good circulation is vital to hair growth, by having good circulation to your scalp you roots and hair follicles will be properly nourished.

JBCO.com:

Over the years, Jamaicans have been using castor oil as their home grown remedy for medicinal purposes, as well as skin care, hair care and everyday aches and pains. It is now being used by many African Americans to moisturize, thicken, strengthen and increase their hair growth. Today, Jamaican Black castor Oil has crossed over into other ethnic groups, and is now being used widely for some of the same purposes as well as new found uses, including eyelash and eyebrow hair growth and as a massage oil. This is a versatile oil that carries many varied uses.

althought its called JBCO, people seems to not acknowledge the fact that Haiti also have castor oil which is the same as the Jamaican one and use for everything including hair. its call L'huil Maskreti

Hope you enjoyed and Learned something:)

4 month Post relaxer!!!!

Hello, I know its been a while.

i had decided to put senegalese twist in my hair because of all the new growth i was getting due to my JBCO (yay). my senegalse twist which i did my self are down to my lower bak :). I took them out on Saturday night because it about that time. it really helped me strech my relaxer because idk how i would have been able to do it. I AM 4 MONTHS POST RELAXER!!!!. My hair is finally back to normal after so much treatment and manipulation.
This is what i came up with after my research...
-them out and detangle,
-do a prepoo with conditioner, avocado oil and olive oil. leave it in for 1hr and do my wash with V05
-do either a deep conditioner with oils added or an oil treatment. and leave it over night.
it was a whole lot more but this is what i actually did. It kinda work for me but i need better.

This is what actually happened

i took my braids out. I detangles with a water spray bottle and it worked. then i mixed my pre-poo treatment: olive oil mezani conditioner, and JBCO, i mix it and warm it up and apply to my hair and left it in for about an hour.

rince in out and shampoo my hair with treseme clarifying 3x i towel dried my hair and mix my deep conditioner; treseme conditionner, mezani moisture, olive oil, avocado oil, and JBCO i warmed it up and apply to my towel dried hair and this is where it got real for me.....
My whole head was knotted, i let it sit for an hour and rinsed it out but it had already done damage so i had to sit there and detangle and watch my hair come out my scalp.
i apple coconut oil and JBCO.

Right now
my hair is nice and moisturized i went and got cream of nature moisturizer with argan oil, i had a bread out every two night i moisture and seal:)

hope this can help you.
